Missing in Action

I just got the new Ace Attorney today, and I must say, I do enjoy it. I am only on the first day of trial of the second case, and I am fairly hooked. I have run into one, well, two aspects that concerns me. Yes, Phoenix is in the game and is not a lawyer. My concerns lie elsewhere. Maya Fey, who was in all three of Phoenix Wright games, and Pearl Fey, who was in two, are not even mentioned. MAYA AND PEARL, WHERE ARE YOU?
Well, unless the answer is in the game, then nobody tell me.

Umm.. They don't show up through the whole game, I've finished it.. It's terrible, I know, but Maya's probably in Kurain Village, being the master of the channeling technique and whatnot!!

It's true, they aren't in the game, which is disappointing since Maya is my favorite character. ;( The only "mention" of her is when Phoenix has all those Steel Samurai tapes, which you can presume were sent by her.

Very possible those were a sign of Maya, but I was hoping to actually see her in the game. With the new Ace Attorney game out (I haven't played it yet), I wonder if we'll see any evidence of Maya or Pearl in it... ~Craig
