Resident Evil 5 Co-op
Monday, July 14, 2008
I was watching some of the E3 coverage on G4, and I came in just as they started the Resident Evil 5 coverage. They showed some of the gameplay, and it looks very similar to Resident Evil 4 (which is good, RE4 was awesome). BUT, I was really excited to find out that RE5 will have a co-op mode! In co-op, you play as either Chris or Sheva as you blast your way through zombie hordes to do... something... I actually have very little idea of the plot on this one. Still, I've been waiting for something like this for a Resident Evil game for a while (something that's not Outbreak or Umbrella Chronicles). I guess I've have to wait until March 13th, 2009, to get my hands on this baby.

Final Fantasy XIII Coming to Xbox 360
Monday, July 14, 2008
Big news from E3! Yoichi Wada, president of Square Enix, just announced that Final Fantasy XIII is coming to the Xbox 360. It will be released at the same time as the Playstation 3 version.

One more reason I don't need a Playstation 3
So awesome, I had to post as soon as I found out

I don't post a lot of pictures, I know. However, for me to post a picture now would be taking all the fun away, so I ask the rest of you...
What do you make of this?
I wonder what this could be?

The Missing Piece of Triforce
Wednesday, June 25, 2008
I've been thinking about something recently. I was playing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the other day, and I got to thinking: "Hey, there's a piece missing from the Triforce!"

Look at it, it's clearly broken.
Each triforce piece is represents a different virtue and goddess; Courage and Farore, Wisdom and Nayru, Power and Din. So, the key to figuring out the power of the missing piece is to figure out it's virtue and/or goddess.

If you color coordinate each piece with the goddess, the Triforce should look something like this.
Notice something? The colors of the pieces of the Triforce are: Green, Blue, and Red. As this happens, these are the colors of the tunics that Link wears in each game (yes, in the first game he does wear a white tunic, but he gains this from the blue ring.) So, has Link worn any other colors? Yes, if you take a look at the Links in Four Sword Adventure

Look, we have a green one (courage), blue one (wisdom), red one (Power), and a pinkish one (?)
If each tunic color coincides with the goddess and virtue, then the last one should be a kind of pink, and should look...

Something like this
So, if the missing piece is and upside down pink triangle, which is a gay pride symbol, that means the missing piece must be, The Triforce of Fabulous. Clearly, there can be no other explanation.
Musical Update
Monday, June 23, 2008
Hey everyone! I've created a new tune. This one seems to be a little more accurate to how I wanted an anime opening to sound like, but of course, feel free to listen to it and give me feedback!
The Eternal Struggle of Light and Darkness
I would post an image, but I'm not sure what's appropriate, perhaps someone with a little more artistic vision may find something worthwhile?
ReBoot not rebooting
Monday, June 23, 2008
This isn't quite anime or game news, but it is awesome, so I'm going to post it anyway. ReBoot is heading to the big screen! Well, sorta. It looks like there will be a new comic book series and three new ReBoot movies made over the next few years. Somehow I doubt the movies will ever see the inside of a theatre. Which is fine for me, DVD's are almost cheaper than movie tickets nowadays.

Welcome back to Mainframe
The actual news of ReBoot's return came awhile ago. At the time, the creators polled the fans to determine if more people were interested in picking up where the original ReBoot left off, or simply starting over. Well, the new ReBoot site has launched and the decision was made to continue the original story. Head on over to the site to check out more of the new concept art. I'm thrilled to see a great show getting a second chance but honestly the art isn't really doing much for me. Regardless, I'll be checking this out as soon as it is available.
A Freeware Sonic game turned 10 years old, and I'd never seen it before
Tuesday, June 3, 2008
Hey all! Just taking a break from studying to post something that I found very interesting. Sure, I'm a slowpoke for discovering a game that's been around for 10 years on the PC, but I find it awesome regardless.
I'm talking about a game called "Sonic Robo Blast 2", and you can find it at Sonic Robo Blast 2 main website
The game was basically made as a standalone Doom Total Conversion, and as such, you can play online games of CTF with it, that is, instead of doing the awesome story mode that already comes with it. Also, since the levels are WAD files, which are considered ancient by modern game standards, people have already come up with nifty levels and characters of their own to add on the game, which can all be found on the game's website, and its forums.
What are you waiting for? Go waste your time!
Additional Edit: For those of you who prefer something a little more classic, there is a ROM hack of Sonic 1 for the Genesis that allows for some very interesting gameplay and level additions. I found the game rather challenging, despite having played the series for a long time. Be sure to read all about it on Sonic Megamix ROM hack

Who's ready for a sequel to the best game nobody ever played? I know I am! Anyway, Ubisoft just posted a trailer for the new game over on their site. Go check it out, then go buy the original Beyond Good & Evil to catch up.

Yay!
The unfortunate side effects of writers block with music

All right, I know this is not usually related to what we do on the website, but this is Ed related, and people tend to like what I write anyway, so feel free to use my bandwidth.
Enjoy!
Reading a bit deeper

Kotaku just posted a translation of a Namco Bandai release list and they point out a couple of upcoming games like Tales of Vesperia. They also spout some rigamarole about the possibility of Vesperia coming to PS3. Now since I could care less about any PS3 related news, I instead looked at what else is slated for release this year. Not being able to understand moonspeak, I'm trusting Kotaku with their translation, but they failed to mention the as-yet-unnamed Tales of ... game for the DS! If anyone can offer more insight into this game, please let us know at rumors@endingb.net.
