Reservations on Metriod Other M
Saturday, August 28, 2010
For a while, I had been looking forward to the release of Metriod: Other M. Before its release, I decided to look around the net for some reviews. The reviews seemed to be mixed, some thinking it was good (not great) and others thinking that it's horrible.
Since I recently got G4 back on my cable TV plan, I've been watching X-Play again. So far, their review seems to be the most damning. Take a look for yourself.
If what X-Play says is true, then I may be postponing (or canceling) my plans to purchase this game. More than the gameplay, I'm concerned about Samus pining over a man and only using her weapons and abilities when he tells her to. At bare minimum, I think I clearly need to do more research.
SIBP: Super Mario Galaxy 2
Saturday, June 26, 2010
Welcome to another installment of "So I've Been Playing" (or SIBP for short). Today, we're going to be looking at Nintendo's Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the Nintendo Wii.
So, did I like it? Love it? Hate it? Well... to be honest...
So I've Been Playing Mega Man 10 (Part 1)
Thursday, March 4, 2010
On March 1st, Capcom released Mega Man 10 on the Wii Virtual Console. As a few of you know, I've been playing Mega Man games since before I knew how to read, so of course I downloaded this game. As of now, I've only defeated the eight robot masters, so I haven't completed the game per se, but I'd like to give you my impressions so far.
Please note that the following review may contain spoilers. Viewer discretion is advised.
A 9 hour hero, no more! A short journey through No More Heroes 2
Tuesday, March 2, 2010
First, let me just point out that if you've actually taken a look at the cover and instruction manual of this game, not only do you know that Travis gets a dual wielding weapon, but that there are three characters that you control throughout the course of the game, and you know exactly who they are. Come, and join me in the Garden of Madness as I regale you with my thoughts on Travis' second short tale.
Are there any more heroes? Not in this game!

I'm not the type to review games until I've beaten them (if the game can be beaten, that is) and I wasn't about to change that for however long it's been since I last posted.
Let me just say this, if you have a Wii, you like messed up humor, and you enjoy action games, you should be playing this game, so while it's not needed, you should probably click for the full review. Before you do, perhaps you should drop a hot steaming save first.
Prices are Being Fangoriously Devoured
Monday, February 22, 2010
Up until Feb. 28th, 2010, Telltale game is running a special where you can buy all five episodes of Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People for $9.95, a significant drop from it's original price of $29.95. I would highly recommend this game at its original price, but with the special deal going on now, there's no excuse not to buy it.

New Super Mario Brothers Wii - First Impressions
Tuesday, November 17, 2009
While waiting for my computer to install Dragon Age Origins, I decided to play a little bit of The New Super Mario Brothers Wii. This is what I thought of it so far, keeping in mind that I've only played up to World 1-4 and have not played the multi-player mode.
Beat Mega Man 9 - About Damn Time
Tuesday, January 6, 2009
Well, it took several months of picking up the game, done mostly in a "play game, get frustrated, turn off" kind of fashion, but I finally beat Mega Man 9!
I have sort of a love/hate relationship with Mega Man 9. On the one hand, it's great to play something that reminds me of my childhood, and overall the game is fun. However, and this is a big "however", it may be one of the most frustratingly difficult games I've ever played.
There are two kinds of hard: "fun and challenging" and "annoying and tedious." Unfortunately, Mega Man 9 is more annoying than fun. There are several instances where I wanted to lodge my WiiMote into the wall. My picks for hardest parts would have to be: Magma Man Boss Battle, Twin Goo Titans, and...
There was also a Protoman mode for me to try out, which is fun because I always wanted to play as Protoman! He can do all the things that Mega Man could do in previous games: charge shot and slide. However, his defense if pathetic at best, he gets knocked back easily, and his normal shot firing rate is incredibly slow.
I had asked in an earlier post whether this game was hard because I'm out of practice or because it's truly difficult. According to Ed, a fellow Ending B contributor, the game was made hard on purpose. So, there we go. Less research for me to do.
As big of a Mega Man fan that I am, it pains me to say that this game is NOT for everyone. This recommendation is late, but that's how it is. If you have never played a classic Mega Man game before, I highly recommend you download Mega Man 1, 2, and 3 from Wii's Virtual Console. They are classics and a whole lot of fun. If you feel comfortable playing those, then maybe you'd be ready to play Mega Man 9.
In short, for hardcore Mega Man fans only. Have a nice day.
Wii Fit Called Me Fat

Wii Fit called me fat. I no longer feel pretty. He's just being a bully because he's having trouble at home. But it still hurts... STILL HURTS!!!
Shining Force II (FINALLY)
Monday, October 6, 2008
Shining Force II, one of my favorite RPGs of all time, just came out on the Wii Virtual Console TODAY! My life is now complete... except in the areas that aren't.
