Diablo II and Median XL
Friday, April 23, 2010
Hello everyone! I've been trying to keep my updates at least weekly so you can marvel at all the awesome things that I happen to find.
First of all, let's take a look at this:
Read my full featured and incredibly awesome review of this modification (and a short look back at Diablo II) after the FOLD!
K-On Season 2
Saturday, April 17, 2010
Somehow, I missed the fact that K-On! just came out with a second season. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to watch it now, but maybe I'll give it a watch over the summer. The second season is "creatively" called K-On!!
I think I like season one's OP and ED songs better (the OP sounds like it's being sung by the Chipettes). Speaking of which, if you haven't seen season one, I do think it's worth a watch. It's a fun show, but don't expect anything groundbreaking.
Tales of the Abyss
Thursday, April 15, 2010
I've started 7 games of the "Tales of" series, as of today, I've finished 3 of them. Why the wait? I suppose they don't really hook me as much as I would like. While the battle system is fun, I believe it is much better as a multiplayer RPG, but it is difficult to coincide one's schedule along with others to ensure a finished game, though in my case it happened once with Tales of Symphonia.
Wind Nocturne - PSP Version
Friday, March 26, 2010
I'm going to be doing a rhetorical analysis of the different versions of "Wind Nocturne" from Lunar Silver Star Story and Lunar Silver Star Harmony. However, after a lot of searching, I couldn't find a video of the Harmony version. So...
Yeah yeah, it's not a direct video rip from the PSP version. I used a stock video I found on my hard drive and the MP3 I got off of the official soundtrack. Of course, the official song is twice as long, so I had to use Audacity to edit the song to get it to the correct length. Despite the little clicks in the audio, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.
I'll do a rhetorical analysis when I get the chance (probably sometime this summer), but I hope you enjoy this in the meantime.
Things I Love, Things I Hate

Things I love: Love.
Things I hate: monthly fees to play games.
Things that put the above in perspective: Eskil's rants.
Things that were released today: Love
Why Metal Gear Continues to Confuse Me
Tuesday, March 23, 2010
I found this video while looking around Kotaku.
Granted, a lot of my confusion probably steams from my inability to understand Japanese, but still... this is just odd. And apparently this is an official trailer/video for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (which I'm guessing is a PSP game from looking at the graphics), so will this have something to do with the game? Probably not. I'm guessing it's some sort of music video. However, knowing the creators of the Metal Gear and their love of... well... the strange, I wouldn't put it past them.
Song is catchy, though.
Final Fantasy Retrospective - Core Games
Monday, March 15, 2010
In November, I promised a post about the best games in the Final Fantasy series. Though it wasn't ready before XIII's release, it's less than a week after, so I guess I can count that as a win.
Once again, here are the rules that I set forth for not only this part of the retrospective, but as a whole as well.
1.) Unless stated otherwise, only the games in the main series will be analyzed. AKA, Final Fantasy 1-10 & 12. The main reason Final Fantasy 11 is not a part these lists is because I strongly believe that MMORPGs cannot and should not be compared using the same criteria as console games. They are two almost completely different things. So, the other 11 core games will be analyzed.
2.) If a list we create states "Best or Worst of," then the order is that of preference (least liked to most liked).
3.) This is a new rule that I'm adding specifically for this post: Remakes/Re-releases are not eligible for analysis. Original releases only.
So, here it is. Ending B's "Best and Worst" of Square-Enix's Final Fantasy series. The results are a combination of my votes along with the votes of others who are either members of Ending B or are affiliated in some way. The opinions on why the games got the ranking they did are mine alone. One more note should be that this review may contain spoilers (just an FYI).
Independent Action: RunMan: Race Around the World

Independent Action: Bitworld
Friday, March 5, 2010
I have a few indie games that I would like to talk about, but I figured I would split them up into their own individual posts for easy access (and I love easy access)!
There's not much to say, the controls are simple, the dungeon is randomized, and you'll have a bunch of stuff thrown at you, so if you're into these kind of games, go for it. You can download it HERE.
Enjoy!
So I've Been Playing Mega Man 10 (Part 1)
Thursday, March 4, 2010
On March 1st, Capcom released Mega Man 10 on the Wii Virtual Console. As a few of you know, I've been playing Mega Man games since before I knew how to read, so of course I downloaded this game. As of now, I've only defeated the eight robot masters, so I haven't completed the game per se, but I'd like to give you my impressions so far.
